About the Event
Jason Deane graduated from Aston university way back in 1993 with a business degree, specialising in contract and commercial law. After spending almost ten years in the corporate world at Cable & Wireless and, later, as Brand Manager at Microsoft, he left to start his own business, a chain of Internet cafes and Games Zones (called ‘Quantum’) in the home counties that later became the longest running chain in the UK. Somewhere around 2014, Jason first encountered Bitcoin and was immediately hooked, but it took another two years before he became properly invested. Unsurprisingly, Quantum became the first business in Reading to accept Bitcoin over the counter.
After selling the cafes, Jason went full time into Bitcoin, first publishing two books on the subject and then uploading articles to his preferred platform, Medium, where he is now a top writer in Bitcoin, Finance and Investing. His analytical work and opinion can often be seen in cryptocurrency publications, and he regularly appears as a guest on various YouTube channels discussing matters centred around global finance and macro-economics. Earlier this year, Jason joined forces with Luno and now runs webinars introducing people to the world of Bitcoin, either through public forums or private company events by arrangement. Jason is a regular user of Bitcoin, owns a significant mining operation in Siberia and holds a substantial cryptocurrency portfolio.
